| Tuesday evening, E33 participated in the annual "light the night" event at Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital at the Hershey Medical Center Campus. The New Kingstown Fire Company was proud to play just a small part in this event! From Penn State Health News: Representing more than 65 organizations across central Pennsylvania, the convoy included police cruisers, fire engines, ambulances, specialty response vehicles, tow trucks and units from agencies such as the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Pennsylvania Game Commission, Pennsylvania State Police, Derry Township Police Department and Penn State Health Life Lion. Sirens stayed silent, but the lights did the talking – as young patients and their families watched from windows, playrooms and outdoor viewing areas. Organized by a consortium of local and regional first responder agencies, the event is designed to bring joy and encouragement to children receiving care at the hospital. Many agencies also brought along small gifts for patients, including flashlights, coloring books, stickers and notepads. As it marks its fifth year, Light Up the Night has become a beloved tradition for both responders and hospital families.
