| The Township Companies along with Squad 30 were sent to I81 SB MM 58 for an accident with reported entrapment. C230/Squad 30 arrived first finding a single vehicle which impacted the rear of a truck trailer with one person trapped. Squad 33 (4) arrived next with the crew assisting where needed. E33 (3) accessed NB in the SB Lanes from the nearest crossover and was assigned Landing Zone operations for Life Lion. Squad 31 took a blocking position and sent its crew forward. Multiple agencies worked seamlessly together to remove four doors, vehicle roof, as well as performing a dash push in order to extricate the occupant for EMS. A “Traffic Task Force” of fire police units assisted with rerouting I81 and Rt581 traffic at the height of rush hour. Fire units cleared within an hour with fire police remaining for an extended time. |
