I81 Accidents

The three most recent calls occurred on Interstate 81. On Thursday evening at 4:18 p.m., Companies 33, 41, and 45 were dispatched to the area of mile marker 50.3 southbound for a vehicle accident. Squad, Engine, Traffic, and Chief 33 responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found a three-vehicle accident blocking the left lane. Chief 7 then reduced the response to Company 33 and EMS72.

At 3:15 a.m. on Friday, similar units were dispatched to mile marker 49.9 southbound for another accident. This incident involved a vehicle that had left the interstate and entered a private access road. The response was then reduced to Company 41 and EMS.

Later that morning at 8:21 a.m., Township Companies and Squad 30 were dispatched to Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 57.0 for a motorcycle accident. Squad, Engine, and Traffic 33 responded and arrived to find a single motorcycle involved. The response was eventually reduced to Company 31 and Traffic 33.

For the month of April, Company 33 responded to a total of 81 calls for service.
