| At 12:24 p.m. on Thursday, units were dispatched to a report of smoke in a house on Green Ridge Road in the 31-03 Box area. Engine 33, staffed with five personnel, and Tanker 33, staffed with two, responded immediately from the station. Brush 33, Traffic 33, and Utility 233 also responded to the scene at different intervals. Chief 32 (Brown) arrived and found a working fire, requesting an upgrade to the response. Squad 31, with four personnel, arrived at 12:32 p.m. and laid a five-inch hose line down the driveway, with Tanker 33 following. Engine 33 established a rural water supply using a siamese connection. Three hose lines were extended from Squad 31 to attack the fire. Response from township companies, along with mutual aid units, focused on controlling the fire and checking for any extension into the walls and attic areas. The main fire was brought under control at 12:46 p.m., with full fire control marked at 1:13 p.m. Crews continued working for more than two hours during overhaul operations due to blown-in insulation. The fire appears to have started on the exterior of the structure. The building’s wooden clapboard siding, combined with the quick response of staffed apparatus, contributed to a successful operation. All units cleared the scene at 3:45 p.m. and spent nearly two additional hours cleaning equipment back at the station. Company 33 had 16 members for the incident. |
