| In partnership with Silver Spring Township, a full-time Public Safety Officer will now operate out of the New Kingstown Fire Station from Monday through Friday. This fireman will provide dedicated coverage to ensure that staffed apparatus are available to respond to incidents. The Public Safety Officer will also work alongside the station’s full-time driver/operator and will assist with fire code inspections as needed. The addition of a full-time firefighter supports the efforts of the station’s volunteer members and live-in personnel by ensuring that a dedicated firefighter is present during key staffing periods, particularly when volunteer availability is limited. Like many fire companies, New Kingstown Fire Company recognizes the challenges in maintaining daytime staffing levels. Despite these challenges, the station has continued to provide staffed apparatus for many years, though it also experiences a decline in available responders. The cooperation with Silver Spring Township is appreciated and reflects a shared understanding of the staffing needs. This proactive approach aims to maintain strong support for public safety and to ensure effective, reliable emergency response for the community. Welcome, PSO Hatterer! |
