| Company 33 was dispatched Sunday morning to assist a fall victim on the Appalachian Trail in Middlesex Township. Utility 133 responded with a crew of four. Information received indicated that the patient had suffered an ankle injury approximately one-quarter to one-half mile off Bernheisel Bridge Road.
Squad 33 responded with an additional crew of five, accompanied by the Chief and Chief 133. One crew, along with EMS personnel, reached the patient and determined what equipment would be necessary. The second crew hiked in carrying a stokes basket and rigging and lashing bag.
The patient was properly packaged, secured, and safely transported out to the main road. Crews remained on scene for about 45 minutes. |
