Squad 33, staffed with four personnel, and Traffic 33 responded to Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 51.2 for a multi-vehicle accident involving a trapped individual. Chief 7 arrived on scene to find vehicles and debris spread across the roadway. Squad 33 worked alongside Chief 7 to address one of the involved vehicles where a person was confined. Engine 41 and Rescue 45 assisted with the second vehicle, where one person was confined and injured.

Due to the severity and spread of the incident, a traffic task force was requested to close I81 South at Exit 52. Crews remained on scene for over an hour, and fire police managed traffic for almost two hours. Engine 33 stayed staffed with two personnel during the incident. Multiple agencies and EMS teams provided coordinated support and professional management throughout the response.
