Like many progressive departments the training never stops. This morning, the Chief had a trainee out in the Mini working on proficiency at drafting skills. First, we used the boat launch at Willow Mill Park then changed it up using a dry hydrant on Glendale Dr. Drafting skills are necessary in rural areas where standard fire hydrants are not located. Even with a paid driver/operator, our volunteer drivers are an asset in getting second, third, or fourth due rigs on the street.
