The township companies and mutual aid partners were sent to Summer Lane in Walden at 11:47. Updates were given by CC911 with a working fire and possibly someone trapped. E33 (with 4) and Sq33 (with 3) were on the street quickly. Units arrived 6 minutes after dispatch with fire showing from two windows on the second floor. A combined effort of all crews limited fire damage to the unit of origin with minor exterior extension to the exposure. Crews worked on overhaul and a thorough check of the attic in the exposure. A quick response was credited to limiting damage. Also, during the planning with developers and Silver Spring Township, the use of a concrete based exterior siding instead of vinyl siding also played a big factor in limited fire spread. Units remained on scene for just over 2 hours. Thanks to West Shore Bureau of Fire for covering our first due and assisting with clean up at Station 33. The fire went to 2nd alarm. Investigation revealed an overheated laptop on the floor in the 2nd floor bedroom was the cause of this fire; there were no injuries reported.
