Thursday turned out to be a busy day for Company 33 as well as most central and eastern Cumberland County. The first call was at 08:37 (posted earlier) which had units committed until 11:30 (and another hour cleaning equipment). After pizza (Thanks Robin!) crews got a short break then were sent at 14:25 to the 200blk of Willow Mill Park Rd for a field fire. Units were updated with information that a tractor was also involved. MP33, Tanker 33, and Engine 33 responded. MP33 arrived on scene with a lawn mower on fire along with some grass and split rail fencing. Two lines were stretched off the Mini and Tanker 33 supplied them. E33 arrived and sent its crew forward to assist. Crews had control quickly and reduced the response to Co. 33, E31, and U31. While on scene of this incident, Monroe was sent back to the hay fire for a rekindle which sent units T33 and E31 to assist. Mp33 and E33 returned to the station. At 15:17, Sq33 was sent to assist Co. 41 on I81 NB near MM50.7 for an accident involving a vehicle overturned. Chief 7 arrived and confirmed the information. Squad 33 (SB assignment) stopped at the scene blocking one lane SB. The crew took equipment across the median to stabilize one vehicle then performed a door removal for easier access for patient access. E241 and R45 encountered backlog traffic arriving to assist with cleanup. Sq33 cleared at 16:19, Traffic 33 a short time later with the Tanker returning just after 17:00. a total of 27,000 gallons of water were pumped off just Tanker 33 today. It received a second bath once it returned. Thanks to our members once again for responding as well as getting us cleaned up and back in service quickly!
