Be Alert for Large Farm Equipment!

As the Fall Harvest is underway in many locations, please be alert while driving as the farmers use some of the same roadways as we do. Their equipment is larger than the travel lanes of most all "back roads" and may have augers or combine heads that extend past the width of even their vehicles. You may see Combines, Tractors, Bin Wagons, Trucks Pulling a Trailer, and/or Tractor Trailers. While some equipment is well lit with lights, flashers, and beacons, you may encounter older equipment with no warning lights and equipped with the tell-tale orange triangle. While you travel to and from your place of employment, remember that the fields are the backbone of their livelihood and while you may be in a hurry to get to your destination, farm equipment can only go so fast, even on paved roads so "be patient". Thanks to R Brown for use of the photos.
