This afternoon at 14:46, units were sent for a garage fire on Briargate Rd in the Township. County upgraded the response to a working fire at 14:47. Chief 29 (Stoner) arrived with an attached garage well involved and extending in the residence and exposure home on Side B. A second alarm was requested at 14:52. E33 (with 6) was first arriving at 14:53 (7 mins from dispatch) laying out from the hydrant at Bare Rd and Briargate Rd to the scene. E225 was next arriving and went straight in to supply E33 (Total of 3000 gallons of tank water between these two rigs). Squad 33 (with 3) arrived and hooked to the hydrant to supply the 5" line. Truck 29 had Side "A" wide open as both E33 and E225 left plenty of room for them to position. Both Engines led off with 2.5" handlines and then a 1 3/4" line to the front door of the residence. Despite the large volume of fire, crews were able to get the fire under control very quickly. Multiple crews from the arriving companies then worked to open up to insure the fire was out and began extensive overhaul. Two cars also burned, one inside the garage and one sitting outside. Control was marked at 15:21, which was 29 minutes after arrival of E33. The exposure suffered melted siding and was checked several times to insure not fire had extended into that home. Co. 33 cleared at 17:06 and took over an hour to get cleaned up. Thanks to West Shore Bureau of Fire for the transfer and assisting with getting us back into service. Thanks to Bradley Myers for use of the Photos.
