Tuesday evening, members completed the second night of chimney fire training using the house on our property to conduct a full scale exercise set up just like we would do on an actual fire. Interior crew focused on tarps and runners and cleaning out the fire place while the exterior crew laddered the house and roof and swept the flu with chains and brushes.

We certainly request our wood burning friends out there to have your chimney cleaned and inspected by a professional chimney sweep. Every year, we respond to a few chimney fires and always encounter that "one" that is completely blocked, either from not being cleaned or burning wood that hasn't been "seasoned".
