Apparatus Bay Heating Problem

Just like homeowners experiencing issues in their own home, the fire company is not exempt from issues, even with annual preventative maintenance in place. Sunday morning we discovered an issue with the boiler that provides heat for the in floor system for the apparatus Bay Area. Remco was quick to respond but unfortunately determined that the 12 year old boiler could not be repaired. Planning immediately took place between Remco and the fire company board of directors. Monday the boiler was removed and a new state of the art system was approved, ordered, and overnight shipped. Remco will be back on site this week to get us up and running. In the mean time, we reached out to Life Member Doug Morrow, who owns Mellon Certified Restoration for a portable heating source. They were on site quickly, developed a solution, and had a portable heater in place and operational within 8 hours. The boiler is our only heat source for the apparatus bays. We cannot thank Remco and their employees as well as Mellon for their outstanding service to the fire company thus far.
