As if the hype over the palindrome wasn't enough, members took in 7 seven calls today. The day started at 07:46 responding to the Turnpike MM229.7 EB for a tractor trailer overturned. Squad and C33 responded WB from the 230.1 gate and relayed info to Co. 45. Co. 33 staged at the Carlisle Interchange and then placed available. At 08:14, Squad 33 (with 6) responded as RIT on the working fire dispatch for the House Fire in the 100 blk of Media Rd. Not long after the Squad cleared, the township companies were sent to CV High School for a fire alarm. This was upgraded to smoke on the 2nd floor almost immediately after the fire alarm dispatch bringing a larger response (Companies 33,31,25,29,46 (from Co. 41), Trucks 29 and 30, Rescues 30 and 20, A72, A71, M88). C33 arrived on scene with the building evacuated. E33/E31/Sq33 all arrived together taking positions on the east side of the building. E33 had the hydrant. C33 had received reports from School Officials of burnt popcorn in a staff lounge. C133 had investigation with the crews from 33 and 31 and reported no fire and light smoke. This incident was scaled back as soon as possible and staff/students allowed to return to their day. At 11:43, Engine, Squad, and Chief 133 responded to the 1200 blk of Harrisburg Pike for a reported gas leak inside. Co. 41 and Trcuk 39 were also on the incident. Crews had been dispatched to the Waffle House but were told upon arrival that it was the Diner next door. After checking the building, it was determined to close the meter until UGI could check it. The box was cleared out. Later in the evening, Company 33, 41, and R45 were sent to the area of Harrisburg Pike and N Middlesex Rd for an accident with entrapment. C7 arrived with no entrapment. Squad (6), MP (5), Traffic, and C133 responded to this incident. Crew performed standard ops. While on scene, Squad 33 was sent on the odor of smoke inside in Carroll Township, York County as the RIT. Squad 33 was placed available before arrival.
