July 31, 2025

At 16:03, The township companies and automatic aid partners were sent to a residence on King Dr in Silver Spring Township. E33 (with 5) was out the door upon dispatch with the crew already on station. Chief 32 was advised of the caller reporting an odor of something burning in the basement. Tanker, Squad, and Traffic responded once additional crew members arrived. C30 was the first officer to arrive and provided 360 report. E33 and E31 arrived at 16:13 with E33 laying out and up the driveway taking first due assignment. Both Engine crews began investigation and stretching a dry line into the garage area. C33 led the investigation group and reported an electrical odor in the basement. Incident was traced to a wiring issue with the service wire connection to the main panel breaker. The box was reduced to the township companies and E37 at 16:23. Fans were used for ventilation and the power company was requested to respond. Crews cleared the scene just prior to 17:00. Thanks to Co. 31 and 37 for assisting with reloading hose onto E33.
