At 11:34 Friday, Companies 33, 41, and 45 were sent to W Trindle Rd and S Middlesex Rd for a collision with entrapment. Squad (5) and Chief 33 responded. Chief 7 arrived to find one person confined in the vehicle and several seriously injured. Fire Crews arrived and began the process of extrication while EMS crews began attending to multiple patients. Extrication efforts were started on both sides of the vehicle, with the passenger confined. Door removals were completed, driver's seat back cut and removed, as well as the passenger side sliding door. The driver's side door was able to be opened, which allowed for quick access for EMS. The patient was removed and properly packaged for transport within 10 mins. The rapid extrication was successfully completed with all fire and EMS members working together. Units remained on scene until released with fire police remaining until nearly 16:00 due to the investigation process. Unfortunately, this meant multiple traffic control points needed staffed to route traffic away from the busy intersection. Special thanks to Carlisle, Silver Spring, and Upper Allen Traffic units and fire police officers. We will not be posting any further information regarding the accident, its cause, or patient information. While we understand this intersection is prone to accidents, we do not place fault on any person or organization for the accident. If media outlets are requesting information it should go directly to Pa State Police, Carlisle.
