On Friday afternoon, the station received a request for ring removal assistance. The crew prepared a work area and used specialized equipment from Squad 33’s Man vs Machine Kit. The ring was safely cut and removed without injury to the individual.
These types of requests are not uncommon, and members continue to train annually to stay prepared for such emergencies. The original class on ring removal was held at Station 33 several years ago, led by PL Vulcan from New York. This training was essential in equipping the squad with the proper tools and knowledge needed to handle these incidents safely and efficiently.
