Large Vehicle Accident with Dual Entrapment

Company 33 with Engine 41 and Rescue 45 was dispatched to Harrisburg Pike and Roadway Drive for a vehicle accident with Entrapment.

A member from Co.48 was on the scene and advised of 2 occupants trapped. Chief 133(Horning) arrived on the scene and asked for HJ Towing to be started to the scene along with Squad 31 who was at Company 33 for pump testing.

Squad 33 arrived on the scene and deployed the hydraulic tools and began extrication. Utility 133, while responding, made a stop into HJ Towing, as their base is on the way to the scene, and provided an escort to the scene. HJ worked with crews to lift the trailer off of the box truck and make access to the driver.

Squad 33 marked extrication of the 1st driver 10 minutes after arrival. The dash was pushed off of the driver and doors removed, 10 minutes of extrication time for the 2nd patient.

Engine 31 handled the landing zone for aeromedical. Cumberland County Department of Public Safety Team 300 was on the scene to assist with notifications to traffic management along with other notifications to state agencies.

Traffic 33 and other local departments traffic units remained on the scene while the accident reconstruction team was on scene.

The roadway is now open.
